Anne Baker, originally from N.C., then from various somewhere elses, and now from N.C. again, is a trained costume designer and former toy buyer. Under the best of circumstances, this is a dangerous combination. She still has her Sixties vintage, brunette Barbie (tm) and the "flocked", blonde-haired Ken (tm), in their original boxes.
Comparing her life to the life of the Icon, she wondered if Babs lived a secret life, never advertised.
"I have taken this doll and her closest friends to a different level, an alternative place on the toy landscape. I hope you enjoy them with all the good humor intended.
Several were needlessly harmed, some maimed horribly, in the production of these pages. There were no witnesses."
